OVERVIEW

Client: 8-storey warehouse facility

The team carefully reviewed the proposed building design, identify the potential non-compliance to fire safety regulations, propose alternative solutions, identify the potential hazards, define the acceptance criteria, establish the relevant fire scenario(s), and trial concept design.

Finally, the level of evaluation suitable for further detailed quantitative analysis is established. We also carried out and verify the actual design performance.

IMPLEMENTATIONS

RESULTS

All implemented technologies and equipment utilization have gone through both qualitative and quantitative assessments and results have proven that the mechanical smoke ventilation scheme is able to achieve tenable conditions for the life safety of occupants during evacuation and facilitate subsequent fire-fighting operations by the fire brigade. Generally, the Alternative Solution are in accordance with relevant guidelines such as the Singapore Fire Safety Engineering Guidelines 2015[1], recognized standards, literature on fire engineering and relevant technical publications, and well validated fire engineering techniques/methodologies for the performance-based assessment.
